Tarpon are found primarily inshore, although adult fish spawn offshore. They can breath air on the surface. Their mouths are large and point upward. They mature at 7 to 13 years. Females may lay more than 12 million eggs at a time. Most anglers catch 40 to 50 pound Tarpons. Florida’s record was 243 pounds!
